Finca Parera (D.O. Penedès)


Currently in the fourth generation of farmers, Ruben Parera heads the project Finca Parera. All his life is linked to the ancestral agriculture among vineyards, fruit trees, olives and wine. The family was one of the first organic farming in the Penedès over 35 years and this was the basis for today’s wines are certified organic winery CCPAE. Further than this they practice biodynamic methods in their 22 hectares of vineyards and the whole process of preparation in order to obtain the Demeter label in 2016.

Other objectives of Finca Parera are recovering autochthon varieties, such as sumoll and xarel.lo, as well as a minimal intervention and minimal expression of sulfites in their wines.

Its aim is to make wines that express the essence of the terroir (soil, climate, vines) where they originate, to show their commitment to organic farming and winemaking.
