Master tasting by Christopher Cannan including the Palell 2009, by Orto Vins

On 13 February, the Monvínic Wine Bar hosted a tasting led by prestigious oenologist, wine producer and distributor Christopher Cannan, who founded Europvin 30 years ago.

At the tasting, which was titled “From Garnacha to Grenache: A Journey through Twelve Great Wines”, Cannan gave a tour through the wines of different parts of the world to discuss the infinite results that this varietal can offer, in creating unique wines.

This became perfectly clear in each of the twelve wines tasted: La Rectorie Collioure l’Argile 2010 ; Orto Vins Montsant Palell 2009 ; Clos Figueras Priorat Serras del Priorat 2010 ; Clos Figueras Priorat Font de la Figuera 2008 ; Clos Figueras Priorat Clos Figueres 2007 ; Yalumba Barossa Valley Grenache Tricentenary 2005 ; Australia Jasper Hill Heatcothe Grenache Cornella Vineyard 2005 ; Francia Saint-Gayan Gigondas Fontmaria 2007 ; E.Guigal Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2000 ; Espectacle Vins Montsant Espectacle 2006 ; Sarda-Malet Rivesaltes La Carbasse 2003.
